1998

Although Oklahoma City is the 20th largest city in the U.S., it can feel like a small town with a close-knit community. Lowe’s store #535 is located in the heart of Oklahoma City. In the aftermath of the bombing, many people who resided in OKC felt lasting impacts and did whatever they could to show support. This apron, which was one of thousands created, was once just a uniform for an employee at Lowe’s. However, employees signed it, wrote notes and prayers on the apron and hung it on the Fence. Simple acts of true kindness and support have helped Oklahoma City heal, in the early days after the bombing and still 30 years later.
