Why do you think the prosecution chose this lock assembly to convey the destruction of the bomb?

This lock fragment came from the truck used in the bombing. It was used as evidence in the 2004 State trial against Terry Nichols (State’s Exhibit #654), demonstrating the destructive power of the bomb that caused the partial collapse of the Murrah Federal Building and the killing of 168 people.
