Derek Smithee worked for the Oklahoma Water Resources Board for 33 years and was in his office across the street from the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building on April 19, 1995. He suffered injuries caused by glass shards from the explosion. Derek shares his story of resilience to student and adult groups through the Memorial’s First Person program.
