As the Fence evolved throughout the years, the items cataloged and collected began to reflect how the world it resides in had changed. Allowing anyone to leave an item, the Fence sometimes operates as an open forum, reflecting various thoughts and opinions on current issues.
This exposed, public discussion allows everyone to engage in civil discourse, a topic the Museum promotes through their Better Conversations series. These talks not only allow for members of the community to have a dialogue about hot button issues, but also incorporate curricula for educators to use in the classroom.
