General Michael Thompson responded to the Oklahoma City bombing as a captain in the Oklahoma Army National Guard and was assigned to internal and external security. Thompson is highly decorated with notable experience leading an Oklahoma battalion in response to Hurricane Katrina, commanding a security force in Iraq as a Major, and rising to serve as Adjunct General of Oklahoma and a member of the Governor’s Cabinet before his retirement in 2021 as a Major General.

General Thompson currently serves as a Trustee for the Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum.
