“The empathy these students described inspired me,” said John Kennedy, Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum chairman. “Young people can change the world. They are our future leaders. I know we are in good hands.”

The Essay Contest gives young people an opportunity to apply the lessons of history to the current world as they see it. After watching a short video about the Oklahoma City bombing, they will respond to a prompt that asks them to think about how hope can come from tragedy and why it is important to remember.

Students who participate can win cash prizes and be a part of our annual award ceremony. Be sure to review the rules before you submit. Entries are due March 4th.
