Become Called2Change
It is our hope that every student in Oklahoma experiences the Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum as part of our Called2Change program. Encouraging schools to go beyond the classroom and visit the Memorial Museum greatly enhances their learning.
After visiting the Memorial and Museum and learning the lessons of the bombing – resilience, remembrance, hope, responsibility and vigilance, along with STEM curriculum, students will have the opportunity to spread these messages in their community and at home.
To begin, our educators will visit your school with our augmented reality program. Using tablets, students interact with 3D buildings, videos, overlays and more, immersing them in the experience and bringing real-world environments from the story into their classroom. Through this hands-on experience, they will be Called2Change – their life, their school and their world – for the better. Students will have a deeper connection to the story before experiencing the Memorial and Museum firsthand.
Then, students will visit the Museum and experience the remarkable journey of loss, resilience, justice and hope, as well as participating in hands-on interactives in the Uncover-Discover STEM Lab. They will also gain an understanding of the meaningful symbolism in the Outdoor Symbolic Memorial. This all leads to students being inspired to positively impact and strengthen their communities – to be Called2Change.
