He thrived on helping others. He loved his family. And he loved to fish.

When we lose someone, items reflecting that person’s hobbies and interests—items which beforehand we may have seen around the house and hardly considered—take on a new and poignant meaning. This fishing lure, left in honor of John A. Youngblood, is one such item. We do not know who left it. Perhaps a fishing buddy, a family member or a friend. But it pays tribute to John A. Youngblood in a special way, one that remembers him as a complete person with interests, hobbies and things that were important to him.

John A. Youngblood died on Friday, May 12, 1995—passing away from lung complications from the Oklahoma City bombing.
