Unique Samplings from the Fence

Unique Samplings from the Fence

Like an Oklahoma sunset that you stop everything to watch or an artistically plated meal that you first take a picture of, tiny moments of memorialization are an everyday part of life. To come to the Memorial & Museum is to learn a story of tragedy and hope. It is to see how a community banded together to comfort the grieving and create a safe place for them. It is to remember.

Remembrance and honor, however, do not come without a heavy influx of emotions. These feelings take visitors by storm, compelling them to leave something on the Fence, to memorialize their time here. Ranging from keychains to fish, we can never truly know why these items made their way to the Fence. However, we do know they were left with intention, and that they continue to tell the stories of the Oklahoma community, the Memorial and the Fence.
