Invite your elementary-aged children to join you as former Oklahoma Governor Frank Keating and First Lady Cathy Keating read their new children’s book, Love Won: The Oklahoma Standard, and share with your children how everyday citizens exemplified the Oklahoma Standard following the Oklahoma City bombing in 1995. Following their reading of the book, the Keatings will provide age-appropriate information on how everyday citizens exemplified the Oklahoma Standard in the face of tragedy and will encourage all of us to make a difference in this world.

The second half of the presentation will be for parents only. Trauma expert Dr. Robin Gurwitch will share strategies to teach about the bombing and help your child(ren) during this current crisis, while assuring them that we will get through this together, just as we did in 1995.

Time for Q&A will be held at the conclusion of the webinar.

Frank and Cathy Keating were in their first 100 days of office when a bomb destroyed part of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building on April 19, 1995, killing 168 individuals. Within moments, the former Governor and First Lady provided support to families, survivors, first responders and the community. Their compassion for Oklahoma continues to this day.

Internationally acclaimed Duke professor Dr. Robin Gurwitch specializes in the impact of trauma and disaster on children and ways to increase resilience. She has responded to disasters around the world, including the Oklahoma City bombing.
