History is Relevant – Teacher Workshop

In the morning, Dean of Students and Vice President for Student Life at Colorado College Dr. Mike Edmonds will teach practical skills that you can pass onto your students to help them process tragedies, such as the Oklahoma City bombing, and give them the tools to speak about these events in a way that helps them and their communities heal.

For the afternoon, open your mind as you learn new ways to practice difficult conversations in the classroom. As our 25th Anniversary gift to the community, the Memorial is bringing the structure for how to form Better Conversations within our schools and the community.

  • The workshop is free and open to middle and high school teachers
  • One teacher per school preferred, others will others will be put on a waitlist and notified if there are openings.
  • Substitute reimbursement is available.
  • Lunch will be provided
