Bryan Painter is a native Oklahoman and spent 32 years with newspapers, including 23 with The Oklahoman. After the bombing, he was quickly assigned to telling the stories of those who were killed and survivors. He covered and/or edited those stories off and on until 2015. This included the high school and college graduation of daycare survivors, and Remembrance Ceremonies. He was a guest lecturer/speaker on victims coverage to students at various colleges and universities and to journalists in Canada.
