Ronald Norick was Mayor of Oklahoma City in 1995 and provided strong leadership during and after the Oklahoma City bombing. He actively supported rescue and recovery operations, thanking and encouraging first responders at the site. Norick also helped involve the community in the development of the Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum and championing its resilience.

Oklahoma City Fire Department Chief Gary Marrs served as the Incident Commander during the rescue and recovery following the Oklahoma City bombing, leading the emergency response community at the site. Under his leadership, Oklahoma City set the benchmark for terrorism and disaster emergency response and rescue.
