New York Times bestselling author Jeffrey Toobin will join a panel at the Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum to discuss his new book, Homegrown: Timothy McVeigh and the Rise of Right-Wing Extremism. Based on previously unreleased tapes, photographs, and documents, including detailed communications between McVeigh and his lawyers, Homegrown reveals how the story of the Oklahoma City bombing is not only one of the most impactful events of our time, but a warning for our future.
Toobin will join a panel that includes insight from the federal team that prosecuted Timothy McVeigh and a family that lived through the anguish of losing a loved one:
Sara Sweet, Memorial Board Trustee, was a senior at OSU in 1995 when her dad, W. Stephen Williams, was killed in the bombing. Sara met Toobin while attending the trial in Denver and continues her father’s legacy of speaking against extremism.
Vicki Behenna, Oklahoma County District Attorney, was an Assistant U.S. Attorney in Oklahoma City and served on the prosecution team that helped find justice for the 168 who were killed in the bombing with the conviction of McVeigh in 1997.
