For this month’s edition of Better Conversations, we invite you to join us for a special screening of ESPN’s E60: The Oklahoma Standard followed by a discussion with the filmmakers.
This moving documentary tells the story of how the rise of NBA champion Oklahoma City Thunder helped the city emerge from the shadow of its 1995 terrorist attack.
Journalist Baxter Holmes began working on an article for ESPN during the Thunder’s 2025 playoff run, but the story is three decades in the making. On April 19, 1995, the deadliest act of homegrown terrorism shook Oklahoma City, killing 168 people and injuring hundreds more. As the world watched, a community responded with Service, Honor and Kindness, revealing the Oklahoma Standard, and the city healed. Since 2008, the Thunder have made that history a profound piece of the organization. Every new player and employee visits the Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum, underscoring the impact of both the tragedy and the resilience that followed.
This special screening will be followed by a panel moderated by President & CEO Kari Watkins, and will feature ESPN senior writer Baxter Holmes, Director David Seonick, and other special guests.
Register to reserve your seat and a complimentary boxed lunch, available at 11:00am when the doors open. The program will run from 11:35am – 1:00pm.
