Thursday, one year later, we will take a look at how we got to this point. Why do people think violence is acceptable, and what exactly is free speech? The Memorial and Museum wants to continue thinking forward and the dialogue (one for adults at noon and one for teenagers and college students at 5:00pm) so people can bring their perspectives and work together, but still teach the senselessness of violence especially as a means of effecting government change.
Better Conversations started in February 2020 as a key initiative of the Memorial’s 25th Anniversary. We started this program before the violence occurred on the steps of the United States Capitol.
What can we do to make a difference?
Join us for Better Conversations and share your insight and hear from constitutional experts and students on how we stay grounded to our principles, but practice peaceful non-violent resolutions.
