We stayed in Oklahoma County and spent the day at Casady School for Stop #33 on our Journey of Hope. As part of their new "Better Conversations Club," 40 students learned more about the April 19, 1995, bombing and participated in impactful discussions. It was great to see some familiar faces — several students in the club are also on the Memorial Teen Board! Today's event was made even more special by those in attendance, including Sara Sweet (daughter of Stephen Williams who was killed in the bombing), Graham Bennett (OKCNM Trustee), and John Kennedy (Past Memorial Chair). These three helped facilitate tables and shared their history. Next stop: Garvin Country!
We visited Cristo Rey Catholic High School on February 2, 2026!

Journey of Hope visited Cristo Rey Oklahoma City Catholic High School in Oklahoma County. Students heard directly from Ivan Martinez and Rhonda Harding Hill, who lost their fathers in the bombing, Dennis Purifoy, a Survivor, and Dustin Rector, a volunteer with the American Red Cross Disaster Team. Memorial Vice Chair Ann-Clore Duncan moderated the discussion. After the panel, students participated in guided conversations using the Memorial’s Better Conversations model centered on grounding virtues. Thank you to Kim Neese, a Survivor, for reading our Mission Statement, and Graham Bennett, a Trustee, for helping to facilitate conversations.
