Unfortunately, Oklahoma City is not the only community that has been affected by acts of senseless violence. Bombings, mass shootings and other acts of violence have become all too common in the modern world. Memorialization and sacred spaces allow us to not only remember those we have lost in our own community, but to share those spaces with those across the world grieving their own losses and tragedies.
The Fence has become a space where we can stand in solidarity with those affected by violence; often, when tragic events occur, items left to honor those affected show up at the Memorial Fence.
