20th Annual Student Essay Contest

Student Essay Contest Winners Announced

Nearly 300 essays from across the United States were submitted in this year’s essay contest. Winning essays came from students in Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Arizona, and Florida.

Each winner will receive a cash prize and have the opportunity to be recognized at a ceremony at the Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum on April 10.

The Memorial’s 20th Annual Student Essay Contest gave students the opportunity to share how engaging in civil conversations have made a difference in their lives. The April 19, 1995, bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building was the result of some individuals choosing violence to express disagreement and effect change. This evil act killed 168 innocent men, women and children.
